Adrenaline and Noradrenaline: Neutralizing the "Fight or Flight" Impulses
Adrenaline and noradrenaline*
are a fundamental hormonal pair responsible in nature for survival
under conditions of a direct threat ("fight or flight").
The minimal biochemical
difference between adrenaline (!adr) and noradrenaline (!nor) provides
an almost instantaneous switching of the body from a state of flight to
a state of attack (aggression).

Conflict
Uncontrolled Manifestations and Distortions of the DM (Decision Maker)
In an uncontrolled form, this system triggers destructive cascade reactions:
-
In everyday life and business:
External !fluctuation → response reaction !nor (aggression) →
escalation and retaliatory strike from the environment (e.g., a lawsuit
or calling the police) → switching to the !adr (fear) state.
-
In the wild:
A hare in an !adr state escapes by flight, but when backed into a
corner, it instantly inverts its endocrine vector into !nor and attacks
the predator.
Destructive Impact on the DM:
-
!adr (Fear):
Paralyzes the implementation of current work tasks, forces the
postponement of important steps, and generates false catastrophe
scenarios.
-
!nor (Aggression):
Pushes toward impulsive escalations, destruction of partnerships,
emotional outbursts, and ill-considered power moves that lead to
negative consequences.
Protocols for Handling and Neutralization
1. Protocol for Working with !adr (Fear)
Goal: To neutralize the irrational component of fear without disabling the biological caution necessary for survival.
-
Refusal to flee: Do not attempt to hide from fear or artificially "drown it out" with physical actions.
-
Principle of !working with what is:
Assess the current physical moment. In 100% of cases, right now, at
this very second, there is no physical threat — fear is a
cognitive projection of a hypothetical future (working with an
illusion).
-
Reflexive chain: Ask yourself the following questions:
-
"What time is this that I am experiencing such fear?" (Answer: "As always at a critical point").
-
"What happened in previous times?" (Answer: "Nothing catastrophic; this state merely forced me to work with extreme focus").
-
Initiating work:
Immediately after conducting this logical chain, begin executing the
current task algorithm. Within a few minutes, the action of !adr will
stabilize.
-
Short formula: Scared? Scared as always. That only makes us work better.
2. Protocol for Working with !nor (Aggression)
To neutralize aggression, a cognitive blocking technique ("subconscious deception") is used.
-
Creating a hierarchical image:
At the moment of an aggression flare-up, artificially form an internal
cognitive image: the opponent or factor that triggered you is mentally
endowed with overwhelming superiority ("they are immeasurably higher
and stronger"), while you adopt an explicitly subordinate position.
-
Activating the biological block:
At a physiological level, an ancient evolutionary lock instantly
triggers in the subconscious, prohibiting an individual from attacking
someone who is hierarchically superior by design.
-
Result:
Even if in reality you are the CEO and the aggression was caused by a
rank-and-file employee, the generated image fully extinguishes the
noradrenaline spike within 2–3 minutes, restoring cool cognitive
control.

* Note on Methodological Simplification:
The biological description of
processes in this chapter is presented in a simplified form. The
proposed tools serve exclusively to solve a practical task —
operational stabilization of the DM's emotional state at the crisis
point (Le Chatelier). To perform this function, a detailed description
of biochemical cascades is not required; therefore, the neurobiological
part is outlined schematically.
